Who else loves frozen grapes? The best. But you haven’t lived until you’ve laid mouth on a smoothie with frozen grapes! This peanut butter and jelly smoothie was one of the earliest smoothies at our Columbus smoothie café, Alchemy. It sold like crazy! Like my Cherry Pie Smoothie, Blueberry Almond Smoothie, and Pineapple Green Smoothie this is the perfect mix or creamy yet refreshing.
Ingredients
Let’s face it—healthy ideas for breakfast can be tough. As a dietitian, I adore a nutrient-dense smoothie (this has almost 9g plant protein and 5.5g fiber!) for an easy breakfast or snack.
Grapes: Frozen grapes are the star of this smoothie reminiscent of grape jelly. They amazing texture, flavor, and natural sweetness! Regular red table grapes work great. Peanut butter: I like natural salted peanut butter. This adds creaminess and a fab peanut butter sandwich flavor. Add a pinch of salt if it’s is unsalted to round out the flavor. Flax: For a bit more fiber and thickness. You can omit it or sub chia/hemp seeds. Almond milk: Any milk, regular or non-dairy, will work to add more creaminess. I like unsweetened vanilla.
See recipe card for exact quantities.
Substitutions and dietary preferences
Grapes: I tested this recipe with green grapes and it does work, but I prefer the color, flavor and sweetness of red! Nut free: You can sub sunflower seed butter and oat milk. Add a pinch of salt if sunflower seed butter is unsalted Lower sugar: Use ¾ cup frozen grapes and ¼ cup frozen riced cauliflower. Higher protein: Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder or collagen peptides. Swap flax for hemp seeds.
