Asparagus is one of my favorite vegetables and the minute asparagus season arrives, I cook it every chance I get. I love it roasted, sautéed and steamed but this air fryer version is by far my favorite way of cooking asparagus. The spears come out perfectly juicy, tender with crispy edges. Serve with chicken, air fryer salmon or baked fish for a simple but delicious spring dinner.
Ingredients Needed
Asparagus. Fresh asparagus spears that are in-season are best. The asparagus should be firm and bright green. Extra-virgin olive oil. Avocado oil is a good substitute. Garlic powder. Lemon juice. Salt and black pepper. Optional: I like keeping the seasoning super simple for this recipe but herbs like oregano, thyme, basil and parsley are all delicious with asparagus. Red pepper flakes/chilli flakes are also a great addition.
How to cook asparagus in the air fryer
Can I make this ahead?
The asparagus is definitely best served immediately but leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes before serving.
