Ingredients and Substitutions

I chose to marinate this steak in a simple Balsamic vinegar marinade but you could add more flavor with ingredients like wholegrain mustard or brush over bbq sauce right before cooking.

Steak. I used thick-cut sirloin steak but any cut of steak will work. Sirloin is great for its tenderness but ribeye, New York strip or filet mignon will all work. Olive oil. Avocado oil can be substituted. Seasonings: I used smoked paprika and garlic powder but spices like onion powder, BBQ seasoning, Cajun seasoning, etc. can all be used. Dried herbs like rosemary, parsley, thyme and oregano would also be delicious. Balsamic Vinegar. Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce can be substituted. Honey. Maple syrup can also be used. The addition of honey helps the crust to caramelize in the air fryer giving it more of that pan-seared appearance. Sea salt and black pepper.
