Ingredients and Substitutions

Flour. I used bread flour but all purpose will also work. The more artisanal your flour, the longer the rising time will be.  Instant yeast.  Sugar. Honey is a good substitute. Salt.  Warm water.  Cheddar cheese. Use a good sharp cheddar cheese/mature cheddar cheese for the most flavor. Jalapeño peppers. You can use either fresh or pickled jalapeños for this recipe.

Can I make this ahead?

The dough is best if made up to 48 hours in advance and kept in an airtight container. Leftovers can be kept at room temperature wrapped in foil for up to 3 days.
