Instructions

Take the 2 cups of Trader Joe’s falafel mixture in a large bowl from the pack. Add 1 ½ cups of cold water and stir to combine. Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes. Lightly oil the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with a little oil. Form falafel patties or small balls and place them on the air fryer tray as a single layer Place the tray in the air fryer and set it to 380°F. Air fry falafel for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Serve Trader Joe’s falafel with your favorite dipping sauce or salad. Enjoy!

Tips

Make sure to get Trader Joe’s falafel mix, not the frozen one. Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket or tray. If needed, cook in two batches. Flip the falafel at least once during cooking for an extra crispy texture. Feel free to add spices, fresh herbs, and other seasonings to customize the taste. The falafel mixture is made from a blend of fava beans and chickpea flour. If you do not prefer fava beans, you could prepare your own falafel mix with chickpeas, red onions, fresh cilantro, lemon juice, and other vegan items. Use olive oil to spray the falafel patties to expose the great flavors from the ingredients.
