Bread dough. I use my dinner roll recipe but you can use store-bought bread dough too. Basil pesto. Parmesan cheese. Any hard cheese can be substituted. Pecorino Romano, Gruyere or Grana Padano are good options. Flaky sea salt. Melted butter.

Can I make bread sticks ahead?
The dough can be made up to a day in advance and kept in the fridge. The breadsticks can be formed then covered well and refrigerated overnight before baking.
